Tile Contracts and Astro Cap

This article will explain the following:

  • The new in-game corporation: Astro Capital (Astro Cap)
  • New in-game currencies: Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite
  • How you acquire and use new Land Tiles in Mission Control
  • How the new mechanics affects Planet IX
  • Introduce our newest partner: SuperFluid

Introducing: Astro Cap

The new in-game corporation in Planet IX is Astro Cap. It is an in-game exchange service with two new in-game currencies. Most of our players are familiar with Astro Credit, used to speed up different processes in Mission Control. Now, we will be adding two more in-game currencies associated with Astro Cap.

Introducing: Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite

  • Astro Gold will be pegged to IXT in a 1:1 ratio. This means that you will be able to swap 1 IXT for 1 Astro Gold and vice versa. This will be done in the above mentioned corporation; Astro Cap. Astro Gold will be used to pay for services provided by the corporation NewLands LLC, including the rental of additional tiles in Mission Control.
  • Astro Gold Lite works the same as, and carries the same value as Astro Gold, but you cannot exchange Astro Gold Lite to IXT, as you can with Astro Gold.

Introducing: Tile Contract

Tile Contracts are assets that enable players to expand their resource gathering in Mission Control. Players can get the Tile Contract from NewLand’s LLC shop. The contract will be free for players during the launch period as our way of thanking our players for supporting Planet IX. After this period players can either buy it from the shop or obtain it from Cargo Drops or Gravity Grade packs.

In this first expansion 12 new Land Tiles will be unlocked, referred to as B1-B12. Players are limited to one Tile Contract per wallet. More Tile Contracts (C & D) will be released in the future.

Activating Contract Tile
Once players have claimed their Tile Contract, the extra tiles (B1-B12) will appear in Mission Control. However, they need to be activated, which is done in Mission Control under Build / Tile Contract.

Here players get an overview of their Tiles and the costs to rent them. The above-mentioned Astro Gold and Astro Gold Lite will be used to pay rent for the extra Land Tiles provided by the Tile Contract.

It costs 1 IXT per month per Tile to rent, but you can not pay using IXT, instead players will pay using Astro Gold or Astro Gold Lite. When the extra tiles are activated, Astro Gold will flow continually from your wallet to Astro Cap. If you are short on Astro Gold or Astro Gold Lite, or wish to pause your subscription, you can deactivate your extra tiles at any time.

New Partner: SuperFluid
We are also introducing a new partner: SuperFluid. They are first in the world with on-chain streaming technology that brings subscriptions, salaries and rewards to DAOs and crypto-native businesses.
The Astro Cap service is based on this streaming technology. This will open up a lot of opportunities for future development. The introduction of this system is the reason why Astro Gold is being created, due to the fact that this streaming technology requires the newly developed ERC-777 token standard and our beloved $IXT is, as you all know, an ERC-20 token.

Closing Note
Exciting times in the continuous development of blockchain gaming are at our hands, Planet IX will continue to be at the forefront, and we are super excited to share this next chapter with all of you.

As usual, we will keep providing you with relevant updates and information regarding the growth of Mission Control, more in-depth explanations will follow within the next couple of weeks.
