Planet IX Joins Chainlink BUILD Program To Accelerate Adoption of NFT-Based Strategy Game

We’re excited to announce that Planet IX is officially joining the Chainlink BUILD program. As part of BUILD, we are receiving enhanced access to industry-leading Chainlink oracle services, technical expertise, and community support. In return, Planet IX will contribute a percentage of our total token supply to Chainlink service providers as part of Chainlink Economics 2.0.

Participation in BUILD will extend our current use of Chainlink services, including VRF where we’re already generating 1M+ transactions per month to help randomly distribute in-game items and resources. We’re confident that through enhanced support, secure off-chain services, and the backing of Chainlink’s vibrant community, we can drive more gamers to our protocol and grow a stronger community.

Restore the Planet to Its Former Glory as an Agent of Change

Planet IX, a Web3 NFT-based strategy game, is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where land has been broken up into 1.6 billion parcels that can be owned as NFTs, with each parcel corresponding to an actual location in a country on the Earth we know today. The goal for players is to act as Agents of Change (AoC), who collect and restore these ravaged parcels of land, with the goal of bringing the planet back to its former blue and green glory. As players progress, by combining parcels, they can form Capital City Centers, Deserts and Mountains, and a vast selection of other territories, as well as develop new technology to benefit their cause, or why not exert influence over the game itself through in-game corporations. Players/AoC can use these NFT assets and the in-game token IXT to expand their influence in the game, increase their wealth and build a better tomorrow for Planet IX. 

Why We Joined Chainlink BUILD

Planet IX joined Chainlink BUILD to maximize the security and reliability benefits that Chainlink oracle infrastructure provides. As part of BUILD, we will receive access to new Chainlink product alpha and beta releases, dedicated technical support from the Chainlink ecosystem, and more. 

Along with our existing use cases, Planet IX will use Chainlink Automation to help trigger DevOps tasks, freeing up developers to focus on the product roadmap. We will also use Automation to make the in-game user experience more engaging by periodically starting and stopping events and dynamically changing environmental factors to make gameplay more realistic and systemic, with features in the game added to create a system of systems that provides Agents of Change with an exciting, authentic and unknown world to thrive in.

As part of our commitment to the BUILD program, Planet IX has committed a percentage of our total token supply to be used as an economic incentive for Chainlink service providers, including stakers. This economic incentive will be made available to Chainlink service providers over time to help Planet IX fully realize the benefits of being part of the Chainlink ecosystem.
